Installation in a Nut Shell


1) Add two user groups a primary and a secondary, One of which is DBA.
2) Select a user name and password.
3) Change the Kernel Parameters with the available list in Install 10g word document.
4) Select Basic installation and give the path for installation. Mention the DBA Group.
Select a database name and password.
5) Select the Enterprise Edition
6) Choose a name for the installation and specify the path for installation.
7) Verification is done by the Installer.
8) Select " create a data base" .
9) Select "General Purpose" as the Database Configuration.
10) Choose "Unicode standard UTF-8 AL32UTF" in Database Configuration options.
11) Database management can be carried out by either
a) Grid control for database management(Centrally) or b) Database control for database management(Locally).
12) Select file system as the Database storage option.
13)Select "Do not enable automated backups" in Backup and Recovery Options.
14)Select "Use same passwords for all the accounts" in Database Schema Passwords and enter a password.
15) A summary report is shown. Click on INSTALL.
16) Installation process will be underway.
17) Configuration assistants will be configuring.
a) Oracle Net Configuration Assistant.
b) Oracle Database Configuration assistant
c) iSQL*Plus Configuration assistant.
Database Configuration assistant will start its work.
18) A code should be executed by the root user which is available in word document.
19) Installation is complete.
20) As a Oracle  Open Bash profile file and modify it with the data available in the word document and run the bash profile

Now you can work on the database .
